The ask
Create a concept that honors my great-granddad's personal and professional legacy through a whiskey brand identity.
The answer
I developed a whiskey concept inspired by my great-grandad’s story of resilience and determination, translating his journey into a narrative-driven brand idea. After running away from home at 12 and cycling over 700 miles to Greeneville, Tennessee, he went on to break generational barriers by becoming the first in our family to graduate high school and then college. He later founded the Broyles Rubber and Oil Company, once the largest auto body repair center between Atlanta and Cincinnati. The concept channels this legacy into a brand rooted in perseverance and craftsmanship, while honoring his pride as a self-made Southern gentleman.

I’m a senior graphic designer obsessed with typography, hand lettering, and the kind of creative problem-solving that keeps you thinking long after you’ve closed your laptop. I love making work that feels both thoughtful and beautiful, where good design actually has something to say.
I also teach at Miami Ad School, where I focus on storytelling through typography and branding. Helping young designers find their voice is easily one of the most fun parts of my job.
When I’m not designing, I’m probably reading. A lot. I hit 100 books in 2025, which says less about discipline and more about my inability to stop buying books. Curiosity tends to run my life, whether I’m building brands, teaching students, or staying up way too late finishing “just one more chapter.”
